Stop the Summer Slide!

Get ready, our summer reading challenge is coming! Can you stop the Summer Slide? Join other students in reading everyday and recording your results. There will be a reading log to turn in when you return to Lake Forest. We will add all recorded minutes read during the summer and place top reader's names and pictures on a bulletin board outside the media center. April's featured "Favorite" book from Mr. Garrett

Lake Forest counselor, Thomas Garrett shares his favorite book, Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry by Mildred D. Taylor. Mr. Garrett  remembers reading this book while he was in elementary school. He is proud of graduating  from the  University of Tennessee.

Using iPads in the Media Center

Our fifth grade students are engaged with iPads in the Web Cafe at Lake Forest Media Center. Check out this week’s featured apps on the blackboard poster in the Web Café.

Our Web Cafe is open and ready for students to use the mini iPads in the media center.  Students were given a tutorial on how to take care and use the mini iPads in the media center. Check our weekly featured Apps for students.

March's Favorite Book Choice

Ms. Bulluck’s favorite book to read while in elementary school was Little House on the Prairie by Laura Wilder Ingalls.

Read Across America Day celebrated

Lake Forest Elementary hosted volunteers from the Sandy Springs Christian Church on Read Across America Day. Volunteers came into the building to read to classes in celebration of Dr. Seuss's birthday day. Our students enjoyed the stories read to them during the day.
