Community Guest Readers at Lake Forest

There are many community guest readers from the Sandy Springs Christian Church who volunteer to read to kindergarten and first grade classes once a month. Ms. Thompson's kindergarten class enjoyed Ms. Ruth Brown reading one of her favorite books to the class the second week of November. We love our community v
olunteers.

5th Graders researching in media center

Ms. Coleman's 5th grade class is using Britannica Encyclopedia online along with printed resources to complete a research project on inventions from the early 1900's.

Each month we will feature a specific genre in books. There is a wonderful display in the front of the media center of different genres. The books on display are from various sections in the media center and students are welcome to check out any book on display in the media center.

Oct. 31 Story Book Character Day

Story Book Character Day was on Wednesday, October 31, 2012. Students and staff dressed as their favorite character from their favorite book. The specialist team dressed as Pete the Cat from Eric Litwin's book, Pete the Cat, I love my white shoes.

Little Lions' Tech Club

Our Little Lions' Tech Club meets every Thursday after school to work on our technology projects which include 3 D-Modeling, Robotics, and Digital Photography. Check out our pictures.

Statistics for October

The media center was very busy during the month of October. We had 4,554 books and materials checked out by students and staff.
October 29, Ann Wells from Assistance League donated hundreds of books to Lake Forest media center as part of Make A Difference Book Project. The purpose of this project is to provide books to students in need.
